A Rose Grew in Chaos
Pluto entered Aquarius in March of 2023 for the first time in roughly 250 years. It’s hard to believe that Pluto wasn’t discovered (or at least wasn’t made known to the general public) until 1930. It is no wonder that the planet is one of the two corulers of Scorpio, the sign that is infamously known as the most mysterious member of the zodiacal roster.
“Scorpio is so intense that two planets rule it: Mars and Pluto. Mars is the god of war and struggle, so Scorpios are always aware of their true power, as well as the power they lack. They are always in pursuit of power.
Pluto is lord of the underworld, which is why Scorpios are so deep. They strive to go below the surface level and through the trenches. They seek power by way of the underworld. Think of an orphan who grows up having a tough life only to find out they are the bastard child of the king. That’s Scorpio.” – Journey Through Ascension: An Astrological Memoir
Pluto is the most outer planet in our solar system, representing sex, control, and transformation to name a few. The planet takes an entire two and a half centuries to orbit through our solar system, which means Pluto spends a plethora of years in each sign as it is traveling around the zodiac wheel. For this reason, Pluto sets the energetic tone for a whole generation of people.
Pluto was in Scorpio from roughly 1983 to 1995. It’s no coincidence that Millennials are the generation defined from roughly 1981 to 1996. Gen Z are individuals born from 1997 to 2012 and Pluto was in Sagittarius from 1996 to 2008.
The exact day Pluto first entered Aquarius in our lifetime fell on March 23rd 2023, my half b-day.
The first couple months of 2023 leading up to this once in a generational shift, were highly transformative for me to say the least. The year started off hot with me ending an almost six-year relationship after just moving to Cali from the East Coast in May of 2021.
After the breakup I still felt as if I had unfinished business in the beautiful sunny state that is California. Rather than retreat east to my family and friends so I could regroup, I instead decided that I would take my talents across the bay in Oakland, where I ended up on February 5th 2023.
It can be scary living in a new city, let alone a new time zone, but at the same time it can feel like you are starting to really live life to the fullest. By committing to Oakland I was at the very least setting the groundwork to put myself in a position to manifest a life I authentically desired. On February 5th 2023, I felt in complete control of my circumstances even though I was three time zones away from family and friends. Three time zones away from my comfort zone.
Life has been feeling a lot leaner these days. Learning daily about the people, places, and things in Oakland, California throughout 2023 and 2024 has injected me with new inspiration, even though the city seems to be going through what appears to be complete turmoil from the outside looking in. As a Libra Sun and Mercury I have no other choice, but to see the beauty in everything. Even in the chaos.
“Libra is ruled by the planet Venus, which rules love, beauty, indulging, and compromise. Venus also rules attractiveness, whether attracting or being attracted to a person, place, or thing. It rules over the things we truly value and care about in life. Through it, we can learn artistic inclination, taste, and pleasures.” - Journey Through Ascension: An Astrological Memoir
By living up to my last name I will continue to look for the roses in the chaos because Roses speak the language of the heart. The only way to transcend chaos is through the heart.
