A Rose Grew in Chaos: Part Tres

Now speaking of pouring into cups, Aquarius, the sign that Pluto was moving into while all the this madness was happening, is known as the water bearer. The zodiac symbol for Aquarius is represented by a person pouring water out of a vase. Make no mistake though, Aquarius is not a water sign. Rather it’s an air sign. Water is indicative of emotions and feelings, while air is indicative of thoughts and communications. This is why when I think of the water bearer, I associate it with somebody who has a certain control over the way they think about and communicate their emotions. The sign is indicative of being able to rise above emotions. To walk on water if you would.

On March 23rd, 2023, Pluto finally made its way back into Aquarius. On this day I decided to say fuck it, grab a car, and road drip from Oakland to Malibu so I could visit a friend of mine from my days living in New York City. At this time, I was about two weeks into my leave from work and a California road trip seemed to be just what the doctor prescribed. I ended up reserving a Toyota Camry for this trip, but was immediately convinced by the Budget-Rent-A-Car employee that for a $20 price increase (not including the insane amount of fees) I could upgrade to a badass 2022 Ford Mustang. I’m not hard to convince when it comes to certain things.

As I left the Bay Area in the rented hellcat I was greeted by heavy traffic, but to my surprise I did not run into anymore slowdowns for the entirety of my voyage to LA county. For the majority of the drive down south I decided to dive into one of my favorite astrology YouTube channels at the time, to keep my mind occupied for this excursion. I immediately saw the channel had recently dropped a two hour plus video entitled “Pluto Enters Aquarius 2023”, which immediately reminded me that I had scheduled this trip to SoCal on the exact day Pluto was entering the water bearer’s zone.

Listening to this YouTube video while taking in the gorgeous California Route 5 mountain scenery had me in a state of complete satisfaction and content. There was nowhere else in the world that I would rather be at that moment in time. Just me, the open road out west, and high-level astrology talk blaring from the Ford Mustang speakers.

As I continued to listen to the YouTube video, I unexpectedly had a realization about my natal chart that’s been hiding in plain sight. As somebody who has gotten deep into astrology over the years, I’m aware that I don’t have any of my planets lying in the sign of Aquarius. Aquarius has always been a sign that I never really resonated with as much compared to other signs, especially those that I have placements in. I had been going through life as a person who had no major ties to this zodiac as far as I was concerned. To be honest I would always gloss over it most of the time while researching astrology.

As I continued listening to the video, I was reminded of the fact that the ruling planets of Aquarius are Saturn and Uranus. Similar to Scorpio, Aquarius is one of three zodiac signs that are ruled by two planets. It then hit me on this drive in my state of content that Saturn and Uranus are both present in my first house, both lying in Sagittarius on my chart, meaning I am a Saturn and Uranus rising. Neptune is also in my first house but lies in the sign of Capricorn rather than Sagittarius, thus excluding itself from the connection that the two Aquarian rulers share in my first house of Sagi-terrorist.

As Pluto was entering into Aquarius, I was being revealed my ties to the sign and it felt oddly empowering. Pluto in Aquarius revealed its first deep mystery to me in true Pluto fashion. Hidden in plain sight.

I then pondered on the fact that my sun is in Libra and moon is in Gemini. If my rising were to be in Aquarius then it would mean that my big three would be in each of the three signs.

For whatever reason the moment Pluto entered Aquarius I was finally conscious of the fact that I may not be an Aquarius ascendant, but my ascendant undeniably has a strong Aquarian energy present as it’s rulers oversee my rising sign. I realized that something mysterious was going on within my ascendant. Something in the background that I haven’t been aware of my whole life.

Going forward I will continue to keep this blog somewhat up to date as I dig into the mystery that Pluto in Aquarius presented, as well as touch on many more topics that peak my interest. And of course, I will be looking at all topics through my unique astrological lens. Just like with my book Journey Through Ascension: An Astrological Memoir it’s my hopes that me digging in and sharing my story (or mystery) with an astrological lens will encourage you to do the same with your story in a way that is unique to you.
